“I’ve been working for more than 30 years and by coincidence
I’ve been changing job every 10 years. My first job was in
navigation, the second in commerce, then I had an ironmonger’s
shop, and now I’ve got the farm house. Oddly I always lose
interest after 10 years I do the same job and then starting-up
again gives me a great satisfaction.
We bought the farm seven years ago, a four hectares land
with a half decaying house; we searched for a big room like
an ironmonger’s store. We rented the land and it was sown
with corn.
One day I read something about old fruits and I had a sudden
attraction.
I wanted to plant old fruits to get to know them. Everybody
dissuaded me, then it became a challenge for me. I plunged
in my research and when I found the nurseries that grew them
I planted them, about 600.
In the house that served as ironmonger’s store I made the
rooms for the hosts who, curious, come to see and taste the
old fruits…"
